Family Math Night Enjoyed by
Parents & Students
Family Math Night, held Thursday, April 7th, offered an evening of learning and fun for our elementary families. Parents and students engaged in mathematical problem solving activities for learners of all ages. Geometry, number sense, data analysis and algebraic thinking were all highlighted. Thanks to our staff and the Brock student teachers for planning this event. Click on the link to view the video on Growth Mindset that was shared by Mrs. Nash. Click here
Another Growth Mindset math link comes from Erik Teather, our DSBN math presenter from April 7th at Ferndale. This is excellent for parents, students and teachers too! Click here
Grade 1/2 Carter
In science we were examining buoyancy. The students were asked to design a boat that would float and hold blocks. They were to bring in recycled material from home and construct the boat here at school. The students in the pictures constructed boats that held 100 snap cubes. The other children in the class were given a chance to modify their boats. Great work!
